Sunny Ocean is located in the Xiuying District, the West coast of Haikou City, on the island of Hainan.  The mixed-use resort development is spread over 8 HA of land and encompasses several varying types of development including, commercial retail, hotel/ condo and apartments.

The vision for the landscape was to create a modern resort character that reflects Hainan’s cultural and natural environment, establishing a unique identity for the project.  The varied program requirements for the site evolved distinctive gardens including, pool areas for water play and relaxation, texturally rich garden rooms for wellness and respite, commercial/ retail plaza and a crater formed playground for children’s play.   The varied spatial experiences heightened the perception of the Hainan environment and cultural history as well as created a fun and cozy environment that engages visitors of all ages.
