So Kwun Wat is an exclusive high end community in the outskirts of Hong Kong. The community landscape design took a curatorial approach with art influences derived from the client’s marketing plan for the project. At the center of the community is a park with gardens influenced by the painterly techniques of impressionist painters. These characteristics include visible brush strokes, open composition and emphasis on light in its changing qualities through a bold expression of leaf shapes. The leaf shapes are expressed and landforms and graphic paving patterns that define spaces that create unique identity for the community. Layers of colorful plants and trees transition in color as you move through the landscape.
