The Bensenville Urban Design and Open Space Master Plan was part of a comprehensive economic development study with respect to repositioning the urban context in response to economic development drivers and creating a new image for the village. Key to the repositioning is the surfacing and enhancing the Bensenville creek into greenway and open space corridor with the engagement of new developments along the park’s edge. The plan also builds new identities for major street corridors with the embracement of the village’s industrial and agricultural heritage. The plan creates a new downtown event plaza and proposes a revivification of the historic town square into a lively attraction for the village.
Tim Anderson was design director and oversaw the project while at AECOM
